Business Planning Analyst

Join EDF as Business Planning Analyst and you’ll lead commercial initiatives and help deliver business strategy to increase value and mitigate risk for the Metering and Solutions business.

The team you will join is responsible for managing our metering assets, delivering pricing strategies and developing new/existing products to meet the changing needs of EDF’s business customers.  In addition, the team is responsible for analysis to identify and qualify opportunities to grow value in the short to medium term. The team is also required to understand and monitor the key risks faced by the Metering and Solutions business, and drive the work required to balance this risk.

The opportunity…

As a Business Planning Analyst, you will work closely with Senior Commercial and Product Analyst to deliver strategic initiatives and work on projects concerning business improvement. You’ll identify, analyse, recommend and implement opportunities to add value to the Metering and Solutions business, both in respect of the parts of the market we target, and the optimisation of current contracts.

The Business Planning Analyst will understand, map and monitor aspects of the risk of the Metering and Solutions portfolio, recommending actions to balance this risk and provide insight into the revenue and profitability of specific products, market segments and customer contracts through quantitative and qualitative analysis.

You’ll regularly review existing tariff prices and prepare recommendations for senior stakeholders and lead planning and forecasting activity with support from Finance. The Commercial Analyst will work with the business on understanding and communicating how to improve financial metrics and support the Sales function by providing bespoke pricing for strategic tenders.

Being a Business Planning Analyst at EDF means, you will have strong commercial and analytical skills to seek out commercial opportunities in complex analysis together with, experience creating clear and simple presentations that will inform senior-level decision making whilst keeping in mind both the detailed analysis and the strategic direction.

You’ll have a commercial mindset with strong numerical/analytical skills and ability and be highly organised with experience in delivering projects and business change. The Business Planning Analyst will have strong influencing and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a variety of people including senior stakeholders and have strong problem-solving skills.

The Business Planning Analyst will have the ability to ability to develop rational insights based on qualitative and quantitative inputs and a willingness to challenge the way things are done, and the ability to identify critical business issues and make recommendations for improvements, implementing where relevant. You’ll ideally have knowledge of business energy supply and or metering solutions.
