About this role
This role will work within a core team of other Subject Matter Experts and senior process owners to maintain and develop an authoritative knowledge of our network management processes and capabilities within the wider eco-system of e2e processes. With this role you will take a collaborative approach with key stakeholder groups to discover, financially size, design, and implement solutions that improve the functioning of our network management processes and capabilities to deliver right first time, on time, every time and keep our customers connected to their network. If we fail, ensure we have the capability to recover quickly right this time.
Being the expert in Service Delivery’s network management processes, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining authoritative knowledge concerning all network management elements of our repair process and capabilities, starting from how we detect and monitor issues within network and gain actionable insight form this, defining thresholds for our alarming capabilities and maximise the effectiveness of our Common Fault and Network Service & Intelligence capabilities to ensure we effectively raise and manage Change & Incidents to resolution and make this real for our people via documentation, role modelling and knowledge sharing.
You will be responsible for using work class tools that would enable effective knowledge and change management of our e2e processes such as process documentation tools, business process orchestration tools and they will be accountable for keeping a transparent record of how the repair orchestration system can be and is configured and evolving our capability models.
You will also enable Service Delivery to make optimal decisions on the strategy that is shaped through the capability maturity model with a specific focus on the network management domain: ensuring that the process and its operational management is fit for purpose and maintains integrity within an ever changing environment. You are also responsible for identifying any factors that are negatively impacting the integrity and optimal functioning of our network management process.
You'll have the following responsibilities
• Clearly understand and articulate the Openreach strategy and structures: should know the business area of influence, the vision for it and how the role of the process integrity team (and our individual contribution) fits into that. “I help deliver Openreach’s strategy by…†should be positive proponents and advocates of the business strategy and challenging the vision when needed shaping its’ evolution
• Leverage a breadth of experience and knowledge: to ensure our processes are engineered/re-engineered and can be/are optimised in all relevant areas of Openreach and our suppliers.
• Collaborating with F&ND, SD, CTIO, Technology teams in order to enable them to identify the appropriate opportunities and drive improvements to the network management process and ultimately our CP and End Customer experience.
• Enabling our data capabilities and teams to effectively join the dots between data and process to provide actionable insight concerning the health and integrity of network and to ensure effective ITIL complaint processes are in place to manage and maintain our network.
• Recognised as the subject matter expert Pan-Openreach and BT in truly understanding all network management capabilities (All products/technologies) and define and evolve Best Practice
• Consulted for all changes impacting our Network Management domain and guidance provided to shape the appropriate treatment for the problem/opportunity.
• Managing and maintaining authoritative knowledge for our Network Management domain and making accessible through up to date and consumable process documentation/visualisations and knowledge sharing.
• Maintaining the configuration and definition of standalone Network Management capabilities in support of our end-to-end repair process.
You'll have the following skills & experience
• Expected to be domain specialists: Embraces autonomy within domain and be the lead voice of business insight / “go to†person for that area. If we are moved to a different or new domain, we are expected to become that lead voice / “go to†person or technical lead very quickly. We are the technical process lead for business problems, offering solutions and challenges existing ones.
• Experience as a network management process designer within Openreach and/or Communication Provider Domain
• Experience as a Network Management SME in Openreach and/or Communication Provider Domain
• Proven experience designing and delivering lean e2e processes
• Experience in an Agile methodology and stakeholder management operating within an ITIL framework
