Job Description
We are seeking a customer-centric, commercially astute senior manager, to grow new business for our Global Forwarding Retail and Specialty sector. Retain and develop new and existing global accounts and build our capabilities by offering a full range of Toll Group services.
The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of the Global Forwarding industry and/or the Retail and Specialty sector and can create and develop successful initiatives for growth and innovation. You will be a people integrator with a proven track record in winning new business, leading global virtual teams and developing major strategic clients. The ideal incumbent will currently be working in the global forwarding industry or the Retail and Specialty sector that buys global forwarding services and will have in-depth appreciation of retail, global forwarding, and logistics.
This role will have an ANZ Focus for retail and speciality and will require a proven track record of building solutions relevant to both Air & Ocean freight, covering all aspects of Sales & Marketing in this sector. Whilst developing new business you will also be heading up a global retail account and will be required to understand regional business and cultural diversity. You will utilise your knowledge around economic indicators and the fundamental drivers of short and long-term financial health and stability, to develop and modify business plans and recommend process improvements. This is a role for someone looking to provide seniority to CRM teams whilst building the Retail and Specialty sector and showcasing your exceptional new business acquiring skills and knowledge within this industry.
As the Business Development Director - Retail and Specialty you will have the:
Ability to quickly build trusting relationships with internal and external people.
Proven ability to grow presence within existing markets as well as penetrate new markets.
Demonstrated ability to develop new products and capabilities to ensure the growth of the retail and speciality business.
Strong leadership skills and can work across a geographically dispersed workforce and attracting top talent into the team.
Well-developed influencing skills with an ability to interface with a broad range of stakeholders to drive strategy and implementation.
A developed understanding of trade lane operations between the key markets of Asia, Europe and North America and Oceania.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Maintain awareness of long-term outcomes, anticipate the long-term impact of actions, and keep the big picture in mind to guide decision making and problem solving.
Demonstrate a wide-ranging vision of what’s possible; show foresight and encourage new ideas’ and helps others see new ideas.
Possess knowledge of the current business methods and principles, business planning and project management.
10+ years plus global forwarding and/or Retail and Specialty experience in developing industry sector sales & marketing strategies
Tertiary/T.A.F.E. Bachelor’s Degree/ Master’s preferred or equivalent business leaders
Experience with CargoWise One would be desirable though not essential
