What’s the role about?
Our exciting Partnership Plan clearly lays out our ambition to step into new lines of business and develop partnerships which deliver for customers and accelerate our growth. This role is part of the newly formed Commercial Development & Innovation team, who work at the forefront of the Partnership’s move into new territories.
As a Business Development and Partnerships Lead you will take a leading role in researching, identifying, developing and progressing new lines of business and potential partnerships. You will have excellent commercial acumen, negotiation and influencing skills and inject creativity and innovative thinking to help us explore multiple sectors, new digital business models and completely new territories and capabilities.
What will you be doing?
Working closely and collaboratively with the Director of Commercial Development & Innovation to identify, prioritise and execute new partnership opportunities in support of the Partnership Plan.
Building a material portfolio (and pipeline) of new partnerships and relationships for the business, delivering the expected customer value and returns to the Partnership.
Researching potential exciting partnerships and new business opportunities - fully understanding the target markets and how to attract partnerships in order to make recommendations to the Executive team.
Taking new opportunities from idea to execution, including identifying opportunities, building relationships with potential partners, negotiating and launching new propositions.
Establishing and managing opportunities to showcase JLP, and building corporate client relationships including through pitching to brand and strategic commercial partners, running demonstrations and other profile raising events, and representing JLP at industry conferences and events, generating networking opportunities and sales leads.
What you’ll have:
Experience in business development, with strong business planning and management skills, and capacity to creatively design and execute new business strategies on initially limited budgets.
Demonstrated experience of developing new lines of business and / or developing strategic partnerships that deliver commercial value.
Well-connected, with strong knowledge on potential strategic partners and how to engage them.
Commercial and financial acumen with deal structuring / negotiation experience.
Excellent oral and written skills to communicate complex issues and influence others internally and externally
Desire to work in fast-paced, challenging environment
Ability to prioritise and demonstrate relentless discipline in achieving goals
