What you’ll do

Group Communications & Infrastructure

Looking to be part of non-stop innovation? Join our Group Communications and Infrastructure team and you’ll work alongside experts in broadband, telephony, mobile, cloud and infrastructure. We’re the team that designs, builds, supports and maintains the telecoms networks across the whole Sky Group. Together, we help Sky broadband, mobile and TV enter new markets by creating a single and secure infrastructure for the amazing content and services that keep our customers coming back for more.

• Provide high availability, resilient and low latency microservices and to build distributed, fault tolerant systems for Sky’s Broadband, Voice and Mobile customer across the European regions Sky operates
• Experience dealing with RESTful API’s
• Familiarity and working knowledge of Linux operating system & Cloud knowledge
• Develop software to automatically test applications and services and to write and maintain documentation for all applications and services
• Take industry-standard open source technologies or from vendor, install and configure them and develop APIs for other applications to access them as a service

What you’ll bring

• Working knowledge and proficient coding in one of the following languages: Python, JavaScript/NodeJS, Go and ability to pick up another language as required and to perform software development with minimal assistance
• Familiarity and working knowledge of Shell scripts, Linux operating system with SQL and No-SQL databases
• Experience with dealing with RESTful API’s and experience working with Gitlab
• Good understanding of networks, TCP and UDP
• Manage documentation in a clear and precise manner for implementation, testing and operational teams
