The opportunity                      

 

We have an opportunity for an Associate Director Systems Engineering and Assurance to join Australia’s biggest public transport infrastructure program and make a genuine difference for the people of NSW. This position will lead and manage all Assurance activity in relation to Systems Assurance (including Safety Assurance) within Sydney Metro projects.

What you will be involved in

           

You will deliver assigned projects on time and at or below budget and will be fully accountable for the quality, integrity and accuracy of expert advice provided. You will ensure the development and management of the relevant Systems Engineering and Assurance activities and associated material and will lead relationships with key stakeholders to ensure all requirements associated with the relevant Systems Engineering and Assurance stream are fully understood and consistently applied across projects.

 

 

About you       

 

You will be an influential relationship manager, with the ability to manage a diverse range of stakeholders who have different and often divergent needs and requirements. Your success will stem from your expert knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, Rail Safety National Law, rail accreditation, technical standards and codes of practice in a multidisciplinary engineering environment with specific knowledge of the competency and skill requirements affecting rail services and assets.

 

Essential requirements:

Meet the requirements for Level 3 competency in accordance with the Sydney Metro Competency Management system

Rail experience, particularly covering system integration

Demonstrated level of relevant and continued professional development equivalent to CPEng conferred by Engineers Australia or relevant professional body

Team leadership experience

This role is identified as a Rail Safety Worker (RSW)

 

Desired experience:

Metro experience

10+ years overall experience in rail

Experience through the entire lifecycle from concept to operation would be beneficial

Good understanding of all engineering and design disciplines

Comfortable resolving complex technical and coordination challenges with internal and external stakeholders

Experience of projects using a structured requirements management process
