About the team
The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division engages with our customers and communities. We connect regional NSW with safe and tailored transport choices, and contribute to strong economic growth and sustainability across the state.
The opportunity
Right now, we have an opportunity available for an Associate Community and Safety Partner to join the Community and Place Branch on a permanent basis. This position will support the East Precinct in the West Region
This covers the Blue Mountains, Bathurst, Lithgow, Oberon, Mid-Western and Blayney. Ideally, you will be located in Parkes OR within the precinct as mentioned.

As the Associate Community and Safety Partner, you will engage with NSW regional communities and stakeholders to champion their needs and achieve integrated community outcomes.
You will manage relationships with councils, community groups, and other government partners to deliver safety and transport outcomes that suit those communities now and into the future, building and maintaining working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders across a large geographical area.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have transport-related tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience working in a similar professional position. We are looking for a dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with councils, regional communities and various others.
You have a passion for road safety and the technical experience to apply the Safe System approach in urban and rural settings. You will have a clear focus on striving for multi-modal improvements across our region.
Demonstrated experience engaging with the community and a commitment to understanding our customers’ transport needs would be seen as an asset to our team.
You will have the ability to capture an audience by communicating technical information effectively in a way everyone can understand. You will have proven project management experience, flexibility to adjust to changing priorities, and great attention to detail. A familiarity operating in a State or local government environment would make you ideally suited to the role.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Transport Grade 7 ($106,086 - $118,816) - per annum plus superannuation
