Established in 1902, at Trenton Cold Storage our specialty is customized temperature-controlled warehousing and distribution. We provide Canada with more than 34,000,000 cubic feet of cold storage and refrigerated warehouse space in our seven Ontario and two Alberta facilities. We are looking for Assistant Warehouse Manager for the Edmonton warehouse to join our team.

Hours of Work and Compensation:

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Hours of work Mon-Friday days and on-call

Starting rate $61,713.68 per year

Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitor health and safety. Ensure all Warehouse Operators and Supervisors follow all safety instructions and work rules.

Advise Shift Supervisors on daily workflow management, oversee and monitor their progress and results. Coach on areas for improvement.

Monitor shipping and receiving to ensure customer’s requirements are met. Liaise with customers and customer service to resolve issues that arise.

Coach and assist the Supervisors in dealing with performance issues and taking corrective action.

Oversee all payroll, scheduling, and overtime to ensure accuracy and control costs.

Review and follow up to ensure job training for all employees is completed effectively, safely, and efficiently by observing and reviewing the training task booklets and checklists.

Ensure warehouse sanitation meets standards and equipment is well maintained.

Infrequent travel to the Calgary warehouse site may be required

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Must have at least three years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a warehouse environment.

Must have excellent interpersonal skills, good organization skills, and effective oral and written communication in English.

Strong computer skills (Warehouse Management Systems)

Secondary school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Must possess a valid drivers license

Must be able to pass forklift truck drivers program
