Construction & Innovation - The Construction and Innovation Group supports Kāinga Ora to grow its public and supported housing portfolio through the design and development of high quality homes that meet the needs of the community now and in the future, and by driving innovation across the construction sector.

The Assistant Project Manager enables project delivery while working under the supervision of an experienced Project Manager. Assistant Project Managers may in some instances deliver small projects where appropriate and required.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring

  • A recognised Project Management Certificate or study towards a tertiary qualification is desirable plus 2 years' experience as a Project Coordinator or a comparable role
  • Some experience or knowledge of managing projects with the ability to prepare comprehensive and robust project plans which identify project risks and mitigation strategies
  • Experience with the delivery of low volume work activities
  • Ability to demonstrate commercial acumen, acts decisively and with foresight, ability to multitask, plan, prioritise and manage time.
  • Demonstrated experience working in the property or construction industry
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and in plain language
  • Basic influencing, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Exposure to managing property maintenance or minor capital work upgrades
  • Strong relationship skills with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships through consultation and partnership.
  • Computer literate in MS suite of products, particularly Word, Excel, Visio and MS Project
