What will I be doing?

We are a purpose-built centre located centrally right across the road from Hagley Park - close to the hospital and local business hubs. We are licensed for up to 50 children, which includes both a under and over two area. Our philosophy is based on a learning through play approach which allows children to explore, learn and develop in an environment that is flexible and unhurried; where children are given the chance to take risks, have fun, embrace challenges, and have the freedom to express their thoughts and emotions.

We are looking for a new Head Teacher to lead our experienced team to support the goals and outcomes of our centre strategic priorities. Our team are positive, happy, and nurturing, and we focus on learning that is characterised by respect, inclusion, empathy, collaboration, and safety. Each member of our team come with a skill set that compliments a well-rounded team and strengths within!

This position is permanent and full time, with our 3-5 year old's.

Role requirements:

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher registration/certification
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of planning and assessment, pedagogy, and curriculum
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard
  • A team player - passionate and self-motivated about leading a successful team
