Then we could have the ideal role for you. We currently have a Casual Assistant Aquarist vacancy within our team at SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton's Auckland.

About the Role

Reporting to the Displays Manager of the Fish Department, this role is responsible for assisting in delivering best practice animal husbandry as well as providing an amazing experience for our visitors. You will have the opportunity to work across all aquatic exhibits within the aquarium.

Your duties may include but are not limited to:

• Monitoring aquarium systems and animals
• Food preparation and feeding of fish and marine animals
• Cleaning and maintaining the exhibits and quarantine tanks
• Delivering inspiring guest presentations
• Guiding our Shark Cage adventure
• Supporting our dive operations

About You

You are excited to share your passion and knowledge about animals and the marine environment with our guests. You display a positive disposition, commitment, strong work ethic and a capacity to work through challenges to resolution. Aquatic animal husbandry experience and knowledge would be a definite advantage as would experience in tourism / adventure guiding.

Physical fitness is required as some heavy lifting will be involved and applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

As a Casual Assistant Aquarist you will be covering shifts of other staff on leave and may involve work on weekends and public holidays.
