What’s the role about?
The Supplier Management team performs a critical role in the Partnership, working collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver the customer plan and maximise profit for the Partnership.
As a Supplier Asset Sales Manager working in the Supplier Management profession you will collaborate with various teams, including Trading, Marketing, Shops and Retail teams, whilst also developing close relationships with suppliers to ensure delivery of the customer plan and maximise supplier funding as part of our commercial agreements. Day to day you will lead negotiations with suppliers to ensure we are utilising our physical estate space to maximise profit and return for both JL and Suppliers.
What will you be doing?
Build relationships with suppliers to maximise supplier funded revenue in shop space
Align suppliers spend ambition and marketing plans with John Lewis customer plans
Work closely with Buying teams to identify and prioritise commercial opportunities to invest in JL real estate with suppliers.
Reviewing rate cards looking for opportunities to drive consistency and increase spend
Use CI to develop tools and best practice that improves the process for the supplier, drives efficiency and captures more revenue
Work collaboratively with stakeholder teams to align plans to Category ambitions
What you'll have
Strong levels of stakeholder management and evidence of influencing at all levels
Excellent negotiation skills developed over experience in relevant role
Strong planning experience with an ability to manage several competing priorities to deliver the best outcome
An understanding of marketing assets, how to appraise their value and negotiate best price
What else could you bring?
Completion of recognised qualification e.g GAP skilled negotiator course would be an advantage
Experience of working with/in retail space utilization projects
Project management experience
