The opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity on for an Asset Engineer Electrical to join our Asset Management Team within Sydney Trains. This role is responsible to oversee and coordinate the discipline specific asset management plans for the assigned districts, incorporating major periodic maintenance (MPM), capital works, external party works and routine maintenance (RM), to ensure the safe, reliable and cost effective maintenance of the asset while achieving on time running and reliability objectives.

 

The role will be based in our Granville Office but will require site visits across the Sydney Trains Network. This is a full time permanent position.

 

What you will be involved in:

Reporting to the Asset Manager Electrical, your key responsibilities are but not limited to:

 

  • Execute safety responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities consistent with Sydney Trains safety management system requirements which are defined in SMS document number SMS-02-RG-3058.
  • Evaluate the impact of risk associated with project alterations to the current infrastructure program, to comply with agreed guidelines on safety and reliability.  Actively monitor systems performance and manage risk factors that can adversely affect the performance of the systems and assets.
  • Co-ordinate and support the program for the completion of technical audits on RM and MPM projects for the applicable geographical area and conduct technical audits as required.

 

About you

You will have Tertiary qualifications in related engineering field or rail maintenance management and experience in asset management or rail related electrical maintenance field. You are also required to have working knowledge in Electrical Power.

 

Demonstrated experience and understanding of asset management, configuration management and project management in large scale rail infrastructure and operations environment.

 

Proven planning, analytical, and problem solving skills, and the ability to apply them in the development of large scale medium to long term asset maintenance and capital works programs and solutions

 

High level of communication and interpersonal skills and proven ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation and with external stakeholders.

Salary and benefits

The salary for this position is RC5 ($106,653 - $123,022) per annum plus shift overtime, superannuation and leave loading.
