Job Description
Johnson Controls Hitachi Heating and Cooling Solutions UK are focusing on the growth of the business and looking for an area sales manager to create long-term trusting relationships with our customers. This will be through the development of close relationships with installing contractors, consultants, M&E companies and end user clients. The primary role is to drive sales of our VRF, Chiller and Heating systems into the HVAC market through direct sales with contractors and a strong share of specification led project work through consultants.
This is a regional role to cover the South East and London. The candidate should be prepared to travel into London on a frequent basis along with areas outside to ensure the coverage of the region for the company.
How you will do it
- Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
- Provide design and application advice to customers promoting energy efficient solutions for their projects
- Work closely with customers to negotiate contracts / projects and close agreements to maximise profits
- Develop new business opportunities with existing clients and / or identify areas of improvement to meet sales targets
- Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
- A proactive introduction of our product portfolio in order to assist in the decision-making process for clients i.e., provide run cost calculations, co2 calculations, installation requirements, features and benefits etc.
- Present to customers covering the features and benefits of our product portfolio, CPD’s and other subjects such as legislation requirements
What we look for
- Previous experience and track record in an account manager or area sales manager position.
- Technical experience and knowledge of HVAC is essential.
- Experience of design and application in air conditioning, chillers, heating and control systems with the ability to guide clients through design concepts as necessary.
- Knowledge and understanding of current legislation.
- Experience of presenting on both power point and system training to customers.
- Ability to multitask several client requests at the same time.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to use own initiative and high level of personal organisation.
- IT literate – good background of utilising Excel, PowerPoint, CRM – Salesforce and Outlook.
