We are looking for a Aquaculture Analyst/Senior Aquaculture Analyst to join the Aquaculture Settlement and Operational Policy team.
The Aquaculture Settlement and Operational Policy team is responsible for partnering with iwi to maximise the benefits from the Crown's aquaculture settlement; and crafting and inputting into legislation (including resource management system reform), regulations and regional coastal plans to efficiently manage and improve the sector.
The Aquaculture Settlement and Operational Policy team, along with the Aquaculture Strategy and Development team makes up the Aquaculture Directorate, which sits within Fisheries New Zealand. Fisheries New Zealand is a business unit of the Ministry of Primary Industries.

You are a critical thinker who is able to problem solve, communicate effectively and can build and maintain strong relationships, particularly with our Treaty partners.
The Aquaculture Settlement and Operational Policy team consists of six members, including a manager, principal advisor, three senior aquaculture analysts and one aquaculture analyst. The team is located primarily in Wellington and Nelson. Although, we would prefer to staff to be based in Wellington or Nelson, but we will consider applicants based in key aquaculture growing regions where MPI has a regional office. Likewise, both full and part time applications will be considered. Please state in your application your preferences on these matters.
