Role title: Agile Delivery Manager

The Role
In order to keep pace with rapid advances in technology and innovation VB IT is also changing. As part of our new Agile First operating model, we have an exciting opportunity to join the team as an Agile Delivery Manager responsible for software delivery and the continuous improvement in agile ways of working across Product Practices and Domains.
Role purpose:
The Agile Delivery Manager manages and delivers customer-sponsored, cross-functional projects and platforms to agreed time, cost, quality, risk and benefits specifications. The key responsibility is to ensure that these projects and platforms deliver business benefit through alignment to the Spirit of Vodafone.
With us you will:
• Take on IT Delivery accountability and responsibility for one or many Value Streams (including critical path, contingencies, scope changes and budget).
• Use SAFe methodology to design and implement the delivery model, operating model and organisation to deliver business outcomes.
• Lead a cross functional team in the implementation of the value stream(s) roadmap(s).
• Facilitate and engage in the translation of business priorities into a prioritised list of delivery requirements in order to deliver a set of solutions which directly contribute to achieving the business benefits.
• Lead the activities of the project teams in order to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of new and enhanced business capabilities that meet or exceed expectations.
• Deliver Vodafone Business IT transformational agenda in the cross-channel space, managing a substantial programme of work and coordinating the different channel-specific delivery factories.
• Influence and drive the delivery of Strategic Technical Roadmap(s) – working collaboratively with Platform and Enterprise Architects, Vodafone Business Commercial & Operations teams, Digital Marketing Teams, Vodafone Business Transformation Teams.
• Be a key voice at the table for Technology in delivery - advocate for how to deliver in the right way e.g. avoiding / paying down technical debt, driving platform improvements
• Lead and shape continuous improvement on Agile and DevOps for VBIT Delivery
• Develop and lead a high performing team across Vodafone Group Services Limited, Technology, VOIS and external partners as required.
• Support the drive and shaping of the insourcing agenda for T2025 skills in Vodafone Business IT
• Be adaptable and take ownership of different platforms and technologies in the case of a revised VBIT Domain / Op Model Structure
• Coordinate and support Local Markets in reaching delivery and operational excellence in Vodafone Business.
Other:
• You will be expected to manage suppliers and budgets up to €10M
• You will need to understand and manage culturally diverse groups across multiple geographies and time zones including our direct teams in VB as well as our extended teams in VOIS
• Team management comprised of a mix of permanent employees, contractors, suppliers, leveraged through a matrix organisation.
• You will need to demonstrate strong influencing skills, be comfortable working with Senior Leadership Teams and have an adaptive leadership style.
• You will need a Growth Mindset – show an ability to adapt and lead through different challenges and circumstances and bring a fresh and innovative perspective to your day job
The IT transformation aspect of the role will predominantly focus on the ongoing organisational and operating model Key Competencies:
• People developer and coach – demonstrable experience of building and developing high performing teams
• Expert agile practitioner with clear appreciation and experience of agile scaling frameworks such as SAFe, Tribes and Squads etc.
• Strong stakeholder manager with experience of working with and influencing Leadership Teams
• A track record of delivering complex IT projects and programmes – ideally using both agile and waterfall delivery methods
• Excellent communication skills – demonstrable abilities of being able to distil complex concepts and ideas and representing them in an audience appropriate manner
• Strategic development – ability to rapidly develop and articulate IT organisational strategy
• Organisationally skills – focused on workforce planning, matching demand with supply and objectively making the right call to ensure that our workforce distribution supports value delivery.
