Role title:  Agile Coach
Location: Newbury

Role purpose: 

The Vodafone Business Platforms & Solutions organisation is primarily focused on designing and delivering high quality products and customer solutions. A key part of the VBPS delivery strategy is the transformation to Agile ways of working based upon the SAFe framework.
The Agile Coach is a key role within the VBPS Lean Agile Centre of Excellence (LACE). In the role, the Agile Coach will work with the CoE Lead and other Agile Coaches within VBPS to train and coach delivery teams in agile ways of working.

The Agile Coach will typically:
-    Exhibit the behaviours of a Lean-Agile Leader with a Lean-Agile Mind-set. Help the teams embrace SAFe Core Values, adopt and apply SAFe Principles, and implement SAFe practices.
-    Train, coach and mentor teams whilst implementing SAFe 
-    Facilitate teams progress toward team goals – The Agile Coach is a facilitator and is continuously engaged in challenging the old norms of development to improve performance in the areas of quality, predictability, flow, and velocity
-    Lead team efforts in relentless improvement – Help the teams improve and take responsibility for their actions; facilitate retrospectives. Teach problem-solving techniques and helps the team become better problem-solvers for themselves
-    Promote SAFe quality practices 
-    Build high-performing teams – Focus on ever-improving team dynamics and performance
 

Job Responsibility

Core competencies, knowledge and experience :
•    Experience as Agile Coach within large delivery organisations, with demonstrable experience leading teams on agile methodologies
•    Preferably certified Agile Coach/SAFe Program Consultant, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or similar – comfortable with servant leadership style
•    Leader with the ability to develop and communicate the objectives, inspire, coach, and motivate the team
•    Ability to continue to monitor, learn, and implement best practices via the agile community

Preferred technical / professional qualifications: 

•    Knowledge and experience of working in agile frameworks, eg SAFe Agilist/SPC, Scrum, Kanban, Agile PM
•    Expert user of Microsoft tools: Excel/PowerPoint/Word
•    Experience of agile tools: Jira and confluence desirable
