Job Description

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a Regional Critical Environment Program Manager (RCEPM) on the U.S. Airgap team, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft’s dedicated online services supporting the U.S. Government.

 

While our U.S. Government dedicated datacenter operations team has a sharp focus on serving our U.S. Government customers and helping them achieve federal missions, together, all of Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 100 datacenters and 1 million servers. Our foundation is built upon and managed by a team of subject matter experts working to support services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide.

As part of the AGC Regional CE Operations Team, you will contribute to and drive programs establishing Critical Environments technical training delivery, workforce training needs analysis. involvement in CE operations change and adoption activities, evaluation/reporting on CE Supplier Management for the AGC program, establish and maintain an effective Rhythm of Business Program with our CE Suppliers, and integrating learning solutions into operational planning initiatives.

 

This role calls for a balance of leadership, influence skills, supportive individual contributions, and expertise in enterprise-level operations. You must be able to work well under pressure and deadlines, as well as being able to support regional travel.

Responsibilities

As our Regional Critical Environments Program Manager, your success is measured by:  

Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspects of our Datacenter operations

Create and maintain a program to identify best practices and procedure documents, to successfully develop a meaningful and effective Rhythm of Business cadence with our CE Suppliers

Ensure our CE suppliers meet and exceed SLAs and KPIs

Ensure our Objectives and Key Results are met, via scorecards and other vendor management tools

Ensure the AGC Critical Environments Technician training program is effectively implemented in our datacenters.

Close collaboration with Trainers, Critical Environment (CE) operations stakeholders, vendor management, internal/external customers, and L&D partners. 

Analyzing data from training and operations metrics to identify business needs and opportunities to improve learning-solution development and delivery.

Identify operations risks, training gaps, and learning opportunities and communicate to stakeholders and other teams to drive resolution 

Collaborate directly with site management and third-party vendors at new campuses and data centers to align best practices and deliver new locations quickly and reliably.

Partner with procurement and business operations to drive supply chain optimization.

Qualifications

For this role, you are welcome to apply if you meet the following Required Qualifications:​​​​​​​

3+ years’ experience in Datacenter CE Operations across various functions, or 5+ years of electrical and/or mechanical experience in comparable Critical Facilities operations.

3+ years of program management experience coordinating global teams across time zones in a geographically distributed organization

College or university degree or US Armed Services Honorable Discharge, or additional 2+ years’ experience.

While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in leading large projects end-to-end.

Strong project management experience across large complex, cross-functional organizations.

Excellent experience in data center-related functions for large enterprise organizations.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience in project or program management and/or large-scale networks.

Experience delivering large Critical Environmental Projects.

Experience in procurement (obtaining quotes, generating purchase orders etc.).

Project or program management certifications (e.g. PMI, etc.).

Background Check Requirements:

 

Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:  

The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate U.S. Government clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
