Hi there!

We're after a fun and confident after school care giver from 3pm - 5.30pm Monday, Thursday and Friday. This role is an essential part of our family life in helping to fill the afternoon / evening void. An earlier start one day a week to help with general housekeeping would also be amazing - we can be flexible on the day.

We have three active children. Our sons are 14 and 12 respectively, and our daughter is 6. They are all helpful, capable and polite! They really enjoy having a care giver who enjoys hanging out with them - so it's important that you are reliable, energetic, kind and engaging.

The role includes:

• Collecting our daughter from primary school in Karori everyday at 3pm and transporting her to her afterschool activities (in Karori) or home
• Collecting the boys from sports practices if required - they typically make their own way home or car pool
• Helping them to get a healthy afternoon tea (the boys are very self sufficient)
• Helping with homework (this could include Maths, French, English etc)
• Light meal prep - for example preparing vegetables / making a salad, marinating meat, preheating the oven etc and occasional baking (the kids will help!)
• Housekeeping - bringing in washing and folding it, vacuuming, wiping down the benches etc (again the kids will help!) - if you're available to do an extra hour or two, dusting surfaces, cleaning the bathroom weekly and mopping the floors
• Occasionally exercising the dog at the park or Botanical Gardens (and the kids too) - we have an English Pointer (9) who is very loving and welcomes the extra attention
• Miscellaneous household tasks - dropping off dry-cleaning or collecting groceries, returning library books with the kids etc
• Hanging out with the kids - going to the park / pools / library or playing board games and occasionally facilitating after school play dates / hang outs etc 

Hourly rate is $25 (we also pay statutory holidays). Our home address is in Kelburn.

A full drivers licence is required and your own registered/warranted vehicle. We will contribute a set amount per week (to be agreed) towards petrol costs if you're using your own car and provide you with a booster seat for our daughter.

We are happy for a job sharing arrangement if you're not available for five days a week, as long as you can work for at least three afternoons per week. The exact days of work are negotiable as we also have some flexibility with our working schedule too!
