Role Description

The International Media Team is looking for an experienced Digital Media Manager to deliver Affiliate programs for Microsoft Store. 

Microsoft’s online store (microsoftstore.com) is growing rapidly, and currently has digital marketing programs in more than 50+ countries. 

Not only is microsoftstore.com a destination for consumers around the world to buy leading Microsoft products such as Surface, Xbox, and Microsoft 365, the online store has expanded to include apps, games, videos, and TV shows. 

 

Key Accountabilities

We are looking for a highly motivated and strong performer to help deliver digital media leadership, efficiencies, insights and innovation.

This role is based in London and requires experience and expertise in Affiliate Marketing program management.

 

The Affiliate Marketing Manager role ultimately owns, drives and delivers a high impact Affiliate Marketing program in EMEA. Affiliate program management is the core responsibility, driving profitable and rapid growth in the affiliate channels, managing day to day partner and network relationships, and identifying/developing new business opportunities.  Building strong internal cross-functional and external partner relationships is critical to the success of this role.

The role will also require a good understanding of the broader full funnel marketing view and will involve supporting other scopes within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of affiliate network and affiliate agency relationships for Microsoft’s online store.
  • Develops, implements, and provides feedback on defined global strategy.
  • Directly manage affiliate agency of record to maximize business opportunity, streamline operation and leverage synergies across multiple European markets.
  • Develop new business partnership affiliate opportunities.
  • Support audience focused programs.
  • Execute day-to-day affiliate management including ongoing development and deployment of fresh marketing creative, affiliate communications such as newsletters and blog posts, offers, affiliate payments, and dispute resolution.
  • Responsible for performance measurement, scorecard management, and reporting on affiliate results and key initiatives to various stakeholders.
  • Interact with the broader demand generation and international media teams to understand performance and key levers of the various tactics and how the affiliate channel relates.
  • Collaborate with country level marketing, business groups and online stores teams to drive integration and identification of opportunities between the online store team and other Microsoft teams.
  • Keep up-to-date on digital marketing trends and developments, including attending conference and industry events.
  • Share best practices with other regions and markets.
  • Financial accountability. Ensures management to approved budget.
  • Support the International Media Team on campaign activities outside the affiliate marketing space.

Essential Experience and Skills for the role:

  • Strong knowledge of Affiliate Performance Media. 
  • Strong communication skills. Fluent in English.
  • Financial management of affiliate media budgets.
  • Results oriented digital marketing and media expertise, with a strong bias for action. 
  • Multi-market media experience is important. 
  • Deep understanding of affiliate media tactics and how they can drive impact across different affiliate types.
  • Understanding of different attribution models and how they affect decision making in the affiliate space.
  • Operational understanding of important aspects affiliate media delivery such as ad server technology platforms, tagging and trafficking of digital media.
  • Experience in constructing robust media conversion forecasts based on campaign goals and benchmarks across various digital tactics.
  • Ability to structure, lead and execute several complex projects across multiple partners.
  • History of strong partnership and collaboration.
  • Analytical capabilities.
  • Experience in working and management of media agency teams.
  • Experience working with technology brands is preferred.  
  • Presentation skills and experience with corporate technology tools such as Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Knowledge of other advertising media (incl. digital, social, offline) is a nice to have but not required.
