About the role

The Hazardous Industries (Certifications) team undertakes registration, approvals and certification activities across a range of specialist areas to manage hazardous chemicals in the workplace. We maintain a variety of registers to provide assurance of compliance with the hazardous substances regulations. 

The role provides a great opportunity for an entry level advisor to learn about the hazardous substance's regulatory framework, which will open up future career opportunities. The successful applicant will be supported by a range of subject matter experts.

As a valuable team member, you will be involved in:

  • Processing applications for the possession of controlled substances.
  • Searching and evaluating data to strengthen regulatory compliance.
  • Engaging with external parties and building effective relationships with industry and other regulatory agencies.

To be successful in the role you will need to have:

  • Sound judgement and decision- making skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proven ability to develop trust and demonstrate high level customer service skills 
  • High level of computer literacy & experience of electronic data information systems 
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills. 
  • Energy and a can-do, positive attitude. 
  • Some understanding of the health and safety legislation and regulations.
