The Advance Planning Manager works with HQ Resource Planning Team to ensure optimal placement and utilization of resources. The Advance Planning Manager is responsible for performing data collection, analysis, and building simulations. These models are used to create staffing and resource forecasts and to recommend changes. He/She also works on various project analyses, implementations, scorecard development and goal tracking throughout the system to promote efficient operations.
With the Corporate Resource Planning team and the airports leadership, assist with scorecard development and goal setting using data analysis
Support projects and recommendations with quantitative and qualitative information
Plan and carry out work assignments and handle problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices in the occupation
Facilitate regular resource planning discussions with all key stakeholders as appropriate
Create analysis of monthly schedule packages, determine optimal yearly periods for all resource reassessments
Validate rule parameters and nomenclatures to ensure they comply with schedule operations, timelines and standards
Facilitate the maintenance and updating of data used in the planning module tools to ensure the most efficient and productive use of staff to achieve business objectives
Collect time and motion data within the airports operations as required to ensure the most accurate data is being used in the planning models
Create computer simulation models to assist Airports with staffing requirements
Recommend process changes to increase efficiency throughout the airport operation
Work closely with Airports and other key stakeholders to implement recommendations
Collation of all operational volume and quality data, and ensure that this information is produced and communicated in an accurate and timely manner
Carry out trend analysis and make appropriate recommendations
Create and maintain staffing data base files
Identify both field and station facility constraints
Perform ad-hoc analysis for departmental decision support
Assist Managers, Corporate Resource Planning in managing daily schedule to optimize efficiency
Work with Network Planning to forecast future needs
Completes all individually assigned duties and responsibilities as prescribed in the station’s safety plans within the region.
Performs all functions related to ESS.
Creates and handles schedules, vacation bids, shift lines for frontline workforce.
Co-ordinates new hire/ transfers’ onboarding with along with Training.
Works on the uniform related components for frontline.
Ensure that risks related to Safety and Security are addressed, root cause identified, and corrective measures implemented. Supports Airport managers and frontline staff within their regions to ensure that Safety, Security and Service standards are observed, monitored and practiced consistently by conducting on-going self-audits. Where self-audit or regulatory audit activities have revealed vulnerabilities, ensure identification of root cause, implementation of corrective measures to address them, as well as a means to verify effectiveness.
Is responsible for the safety of operations within their region. Oversees and supports the implementation and audit of Air Canada SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), as well as the regular follow up meetings with Stakeholders internally, and externally, by airport managers.
Ensures compliance with standards of IOSA, SMS and other applicable authorities.
Responsible for supporting Management and Ground Handlers for safety, security, and customer service activities within responsible region.
Anticipates and identifies safety, security, service, and operational problems, and resolves them with the branch safety team while maintaining the focus on safety.
Qualifications
Post-Secondary Education desirable
One (1) to three (3) years of analytical experience in a related field
Experience in staffing software preferred but not required
Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, must be extremely proficient with Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong team leadership and development skills
Possess a comprehensive knowledge of the Airport experience and operation along with an understanding of the interdependencies of all operating and support teams
Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, deadline driven team environment
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Strong organizational skills
Strong business foundations to support product and service recommendations
