This is an exciting opportunity to join the New Zealand Defence College, and be part of the Defence Learning Unit, based at Linton Military Camp on a fixed term up to April 2023.

NZDF is one of the largest employers delivering training and education across a variety of trades; no two days are the same for an Adult Learning Tutor.

The Adult Learning Tutor's role is to provide exceptional one on one and group learning tuition, career appropriate communication skills and cognitive development to learners and instructors. The Adult Learning Tutor also provides advice on study skills and education pathways and is responsible for the promotion, facilitation and conduct of education within their respective camp or base.

The successful candidate will be a passionate and experienced educator (adult education experience is preferred) who enjoys working in an exciting, challenging and stimulating environment.

Key skills we are looking for include:

• Subject Matter expertise to deliver adult literacy and numeracy training based on sound subject knowledge;
• Sound knowledge of the New Zealand tertiary education system;
• Sound knowledge of learning theory, instructional design practices and educational evaluation;
• Ability to deliver contextualised learning in a variety of contexts;
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of people;
• Strong time management and organisational skills.

You will need a qualification in education and/or adult education.
