Position Information

This position is supporting the Administrative Director, Acute Medical Care.

Temporary until approximately November 1, 2022.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts. *For information purposes only -The Hospital reserves the right to change.

Basic Requirements

Two (2) year Community College diploma in an Administrative program, or equivalent;

Knowledge in the use of the following programs/skills: Outlook, Internet, minutes taking, voice mail; Office 365, HRIS, iProcurement;

Word (Intermediate);

Excel (Intermediate);

PowerPoint (Intermediate);

Keyboarding 55 words per minute;

Very good knowledge of hospital policies and procedures;

Excellent editing and proof-reading skills to ensure accurate and appropriate documentation;

Excellent judgment and time management skills in prioritizing appointments, meetings and organizing workload to ensure completion of tasks within tight deadlines;

Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written);

High level of maturity and tactfulness to deal with staff, patients and outside clients;

High level of independence, self-motivation and initiative as well as sound judgment skills;

Essential knowledge of interdepartmental services to maintain efficient office function, i.e. Facilities, Purchasing, Human Resources, Labour Relations, Printing, IS, Audiovisual, Receiving, Catering, etc.;

Operational and problem-solving skills in the use of fax, photocopier, printers;

Excellent telephone skills (including voice mail procedures);

Strict confidentiality administratively and with respect to large, unionized staff and sensitive labour relations issues.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
