Key Functions & Accountabilities:
- Support nursing staff in carrying out daily activities in YYZ OHS clinic including triage of referrals and walk-ins, preliminary work for medicals
- Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and accuracy of employee health records and data.
- Data entry
- Prepare new patient file charts
- Sort and merge documents, reports, etc.
- Receive and direct incoming calls
- Organize and prioritize workload
- Design, compose, format and produce correspondence, reports and documents using a variety of software applications
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- College diploma, medical office administration training
- Medical office experience, preferably 2 years
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Sound judgement, good interpersonal skills, ability to work in team environment
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking abilities, capable of working and making timely decisions under stressful conditions
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Competent PC skills using Microsoft Products: Word, Excel, Project
- Experience and training in electronic medical records
- Able to work varied hours and weekends
