It earns trust and confidence by working together, in partnership with other Policing groups, the firearms community, wider New Zealand public and other agencies and organisations to achieve collective impact.

This role is predominantly administrative and will be responsible for the entering and maintaining information in the National database (NIA) and other systems and undertaking other tasks and activities that contribute to high quality and effective administration of the Arms Act and Regulations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Carries out computer-based activity, including checks on Licence applications, file management and data entry.
  • File preparation and updating case files
  • Administrative functions to support NZ Police in regulating the Arms Act including the ordering of Firearm Licence cards and managing the secure storage of firearm files.
  • Works as part of a team and contributes in a positive manner to delivering of goals/standards to meet policy and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Required to self - manage their workload.
  • Individually responsible and accountable while carrying out roles to support the Firearm team.

  • A vaccination passport is a requirement in applying for this role.
  • Ability to pass Police background checks.
  • Drivers licence helpful but not essential.
