Robert Half is trying to fill an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk position with an organization that offers a stimulating work environment among a team of experienced, motivated professionals. While working closely and reporting to the Accounting Manager, the candidate in this role will be expected to manage the general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department. The candidate will primarily focus on matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. Located in Port Perry, Ontario, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a short-term contract / temporary opening.

What you get to do every single day

- Validate, record and send checks, including expediting special handling

- Organize, register, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

- Assist the AP/Finance Department with administrative tasks

- Help with internal and external audits as required

- Handle daily department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it

- Carry out additional projects as required

- Accurately execute daily processes and controls in a timely manner while ensuring company policies are followed

- Conduct full-cycle A/P

- Provide customer service to internal business partners

- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

- Articulate customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds

- Detailed and have the ability work independently

- 2+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred

- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

- Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Office 365

- Data entry experience

- Sage 300 experience desired

- Experience with account reconciliation

- Proven knowledge of Credit Card Reconciliation

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
