Robert Half is trying to fill an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk position with an organization that offers a stimulating work environment among a team of experienced, motivated professionals. While working closely and reporting to the Accounting Manager, the candidate in this role will be expected to manage the general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department. The primary focus of this role is matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. Located in Toronto, Ontario, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a short-term contract position.

Major responsibilities

- Provide internal and external audit assistance as required

- Manage the process of verifying, logging, and mailing checks, including expediting special handling

- Perform special projects as assigned

- Manage department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it on a daily basis

- Organize, register, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

- Fullfill full-cycle A/P

- Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies

- Assist internal business partners with any customer services needs

- Handle the administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department

Requirements

- Competent with spreadsheets and databases

- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

- High attention to detail

- Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

- Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

- Demonstrated communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
