Description

Jump-start your career on the accounting track as an entry-level Accountant at Robert Half. Your duties in this position will include entering data, reviewing financial statements, and creating and manipulating Excel spreadsheets. You will report to the Accounting Manager and be part of a dynamic team with an opportunity for career growth. This role could be a great match if you have an aptitude for Excel, you maintain a positive attitude, and you are open to an entry-level accounting position. This opportunity is for a long-term contract entry-level Accountant position and is located in Markham, Ontario.

Major responsibilities

- Assisting with audit fieldwork for both financial and operational audits

- Reconciling and balancing general ledger accounts

- Preparing monthly journal entries

- Carrying out other related duties and participating in special projects as assigned

- Assisting with full cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes

- Log data

- Investigating and correcting account discrepancies

Requirements

- Account analysis experience desired

- Accounting Principles experience

- Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired

- 1 year of accounting experience

- Suggested education is an AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business

- Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data

- Desire to thrive in scenarios of team-based work or independent tasks, always looking to learn more and take initiative on a number of different projects and tasks

- Excellent attention to detail

- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, vlookups) is preferred
