About this role
Like the sound of informing strategic decisions for a huge organisation like Openreach?
This is an essential role for Openreach to make informed decisions on how it builds its network, for what cost, and in which locations.
You will be part of a team undertaking advanced data analysis and network modelling with a wide remit within Openreach. Your work will be supporting business and technology decisions that underpin the largest Openreach programmes and contracts.
You'll have the following responsibilities
You’ll undertake analysis of complex techno-economic and spatial design problems. Through this you’ll provide evidence-based outputs and recommendations, and authoritative data sets which are consumed by Openreach business-critical activities and describe Openreach’s position to external agencies like Ofcom.
The team you’ll be part of are seen as experts in understanding the Openreach network, the data describing it, and how to manipulate very large and complex data to analyse and synthesise business critical data sets.
You'll have the following skills & experience
You’ll have the software skills to create, edit and audit network models, including expertise in using databases such as SQL Server or Oracle, as well as advanced knowledge in a number of analysis and programming tools, e.g. C#, C++, Java, R, Python, advanced Excel.
An understanding of FTTP Networks and how they are put together, as well as knowledge of datasets relating to premise addressing and network inventory would be a real advantage.
You’ll also be able to concisely and imaginatively summarise and present results to peers and senior stakeholders as well document project plans and present with clarity and purpose, and familiarity with agile development methods.
