The Opportunity

 

Right now, we have an opportunity in the Information Access Unit for an Access & Compliance Officer to join the team on a permanent basis.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for drafting responses and decisions to respond to access applications under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act). In addition, you will be required to process and draft responses for Statutory Notices served on TfNSW by other agencies. You will work cooperatively within a team, exchange information and assist other team members to achieve team objectives and met legislative work deadlines. You will be processing Applications & Requests – Undertake research and draft responses to requests for informal and formal releases of information.

 

The role would suit someone who has been working in an administrative role and is looking for an opportunity to upskill and enhance their professional experience. Previous experience in interpreting legislation is not required. The successful applicant will be trained in how to interpret and understand legislation and how to apply it to the range of different requests which are received. Knowledge and experience with the DRIVES database will be an advantage, but is not a pre-requisite.

About you

You will bring forward your strong stakeholder management and communication skills, team collaboration and strong problem solving, research and analytical skills. You will be able to present and share information to the immediate and broader team in a logical and coherent manner.

Knowledge of privacy and information legislation general principles is required.

 

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is Grade 5 ($83,802 - $91,744) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
