MARKETING AT ASOS

We reach our audience through various means to grow ASOS as a definitive fashion destination for 20-somethings around the world. 

As a key part of our end-to-end customer experience management, ASOS marketing covers a breadth of tactics, stretching across loyalty marketing, culturally relevant brand content, pay-for-performance marketing, local trade marketing, broad reach advertising, and influencer marketing to name a few. We utilise several measurement practices, but primarily rely on continual controlled experiments as our primary ‘source of truth’ in measuring marketing investment return.  

Our teams and activities align and integrate cross-functionally with shared objectives to manage autonomous teams. And of course, we strive to continually evolve pushing outside industry convention through creative experimentation, marketing tech, and advanced data applications. 

 

THE ROLE 

The Head of Category and Proposition Marketing is a newly created role that is critical for the company’s future growth. Working cross-functionally with other departments including Commercial, Tech and Insights, you will be responsible for the Marketing strategies of our key categories (e.g. Beauty) and the Propositions (e.g. Students) across all channels and geographies. You will work closely with our Creative Lab and Media Lab teams to develop specific strategies and programmes based on the overall requirements of the business. 

 

 You will …   

  • Develop effective holistic marketing strategies and campaigns across all channels and geographies for the central Categories and Propositions including Premier (loyalty programme) Students, Face and Body, Sportswear, and others 

  • Work with Trade Marketing Managers to adjust campaigns to market specifics where relevant  

  • Create briefs and work collaboratively with the wider marketing teams including Media Investment, Brand Management and Creative to leverage expertise in order to create and execute effective marketing campaigns 

  • Control execution of marketing campaigns for Propositions and Categories  

  • Evaluate effectiveness of the strategy and campaign, suggesting changes and further improvement where required 

  • Manage a team of Marketing Managers and Execs 

 

We’d love to meet, someone with… 

  • Bachelor's degree; or Advanced graduate degree (e.g., MBA, PhD, etc.)  

  • Experience in general marketing management including project-management in large-scale organisations and/or consulting experience 

  • Proven track record of managing and influencing a group of diverse stakeholders at different levels of organisation, internal and external collaboration 

  • Strong communication skills and collaborative personality  

  • Solution oriented, thinks outside of existing structure/ process to make things happen  

  • Embraces and champions the benefits of change within the wider team 

  • Has a proven track record in Category Marketing within a fast-paced and rapidly changing global Retailer 

  • Demonstrates the ability to drive success through strategic, creative, and commercial thinking  

  • Embraces and champions the benefits of change within the wider team  

  • Presents performance and strategy to the team and management with an engaging and confident style  

  • Uses relevant data to inform decision making and achieve the best outcome for the business 

  •  Shows strong awareness of current trends, Retail market conditions and opportunities within a Global context  

  • Has an effective and inclusive management style, role modelling positive behaviours and providing the team with clear direction and development
