Product Owner – Media Lab
We are making significant optimisation of our marketing technology estate, enhancing our infrastructure and expanding our use of data to improve audience targeting and reporting.
Want to be a part of the team responsible for connecting and activating data used to optimise our media spend? We’ve all noticed a shift in how businesses use data to provide relevant content to our customers; whether that be targeted adverts on Facebook, maybe finding that item you want at the top of your google search results, to that new campaign on TikTok or Snapchat.
You will be at the heart of shaping how we obtain and use this data to power our growth here at ASOS. You’ll be making sure that we drive value from investment on advertising tech, generating insight from data to inform improved decisioning on our channel targeting and spend.
The role is not about just getting someone to manage a product backlog, this role is for someone who thrives at forward thinking whilst delivering tangible value to the customer, early and often. Combining hands on implementation and backlog management with vision and the ‘big picture’, supporting a strong SOS product development and its dedicated stakeholders.
A strong background in digital marketing is preferred particularly with use of Google cloud suite and will be critical for driving channel performance in this role. You'll be required to gather needs and use cases from marketing tech teams and identify necessary capabilities both on performance reporting and targeting. As well as this you'll help assess and recommend solutions and vendors to deliver requirements and determine a roadmap and evangelizing the roadmap with stakeholders and platform teams
What you will be doing:
You will have primary responsibility for driving the design and development of our Central Marketing Data Set, a key product that fundamentally enhances how we optimise our media spend across digital marketing channels
Collaborating with our marketing team to identify and understanding problems to solve, continuously reviewing and prioritising roadmap and backlog items
Working closely with Software and QA Engineers, Product Designers, Solution Architects and 3rd Party vendors to continuously improve ASOS’ performance marketing capabilities.
Work with the Data Leadership team and business stakeholders to identify and define the business priorities based on business problem– able to express the context of the change within the business strategy and BI Roadmap
Working on data systems that power our campaigns and activities aimed at acquisition and retention of customers.
Defining data metrics to report on the effectiveness of performance marketing functions.Be responsible for the features we deliver from end to end, from initial discovery to delivery to subsequent iterations.
Build strong relationships with end users, to understand their needs and enable them to get the most out of our data solutions

We would like to meet someone with …
Proven experience in managing and organising data, taking initiatives from conception to go-live, through the continuous product development lifecycle and measurable success across key KPIs.
Experience working on a modern Marketing Technology stack (e.g. GMP/GCP)
Experience working in an Agile environment, collaborating closely with engineers and designers.
A strong technical understanding and hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.
The ability to elicit and prioritise business requirements and translate these into user stories and an actionable backlog, whilst proficient in other related modelling techniques e.g. process maps.
Excellent communication skills, able to adapt their approach based on whom they are interacting with e.g. internal senior managers, technical teams and customers,
Strong stakeholder relationship management and influencing skills, proficient at about understanding the range of stakeholders, customer and technical perspectives in all you do.
An excellent problem-solving mindset, doing what it takes to solve the problem for the internal customer
