As a Design Lead for ASOS, you will play an instrumental role in defining and driving customer- led design for our award-winning platforms. You will inspire, lead and coach a talented team of 12 designers and spearhead the digital product design strategy for the next few years.
Specifically, for this role, you will have a fantastic opportunity to establish a new customer research and competitor insights team to ensure we truly capture and understand the voice of the customer.
It goes without saying, you will be passionate about great design with purpose and have your finger firmly on the pulse of the latest news and developments in customer product innovation.
What you will be doing?
You will report directly to the Director of Digital Product and be a core member of our Product and Design leadership team
You will work hands on with our key products and lead a team of 12 user experience and product designers, providing coaching and expert advice, ensuring that we continue to raise the bar of quality and great user experience design
You will act as a design thought leader, driving innovation, strengthening and promoting a design culture inside and outside of ASOS
You will work closely with the product and design leadership team to define and deliver our future ASOS customer experience strategy
You will be accountable for establishing and defining a new customer research and competitor insights team, to champion being the ‘voice of customer’
You will define design processes and evolve our global design and accessibility standards
You foster an environment of diversity, transparency and trust, where your team of designers can feel empowered to share ideas, be challenged and fulfil their potential
What you will need to bring?
You will have a track record of success as a Design Leader, ideally coming from another pure play / e-commerce or mobile apps company that places the customer at the centre of everything they do
You will have a minimum of 3-4 years of leading, recruiting and developing a team of designers ranging in levels of ability
You will have a deep knowledge in customer-led product design and possess a scientific mindset and curiosity for product innovation
You will have a portfolio that demonstrates a track record of producing excellent customer-led product design and experience design backed up by customer data and user research studies / projects
You have excellent influencing and communication skills – able to articulate design vision and execute product strategies to senior leadership / stakeholders
