The Bull Hotel is a busy 15th century coaching-inn situated in the West Dorset market town of Bridport. It has a thriving restaurant which is as popular with the locals as it is with hotel guests. The Bull also benefits from a lively cocktail bar, Georgian ballroom and 19 boutique style bedrooms. The food served here takes advantage of our fantastic location just a mile from the awesome Jurassic coast, and so has is a strong emphasis on fresh seafood. The dining atmosphere is relaxed, we have a bar area and outdoor seating in our beautiful courtyard. Bridport has a strong arts culture, music scene and food heritage.

You’ll be working alongside a first-class team of talented chefs to create something really special. We take food seriously at Fuller’s, so you’ll always be working with fresh, seasonal, local ingredients too.

For those who can ‘stand the heat’, life in the kitchen is extremely exciting. It’s fast-paced work but offers a real sense of reward – especially when diners send their compliments after a memorable meal.

As a Commis Chef, you’ll largely be preparing ingredients to help the senior chefs work their magic. It’s a great way to develop your career, allowing you to hone your talent and learn from the best, while making a great contribution to the success of the kitchen.

You won’t be expected to have exceptional food knowledge just yet, but it’s crucial you have basic cookery skills and share our passion for fresh produce.

It’s all about personality. Your potential, your commitment, and your ability to work under pressure is every bit as important to us as your knife-handling skills.

Here at Fuller’s we like to listen to our teams and recently we were asked by this pub kitchen if they can change their kitchen rota and have 3 days off a week – we were more than happy to oblige.

All our full-time kitchen team now work their normal hours over 4 days and take 3 full days off a week, meaning more down time and more family time…..and therefore happier chefs!
