The Windy City is not only known for its deep-dish pizza and the tastiest hot dogs in the world (come at me), but it also employs hundreds of thousands of people across a wide range of sectors.
Salesforce ($CRM), Kimpton Hotels ($PRIVATE:KIMPTONHOTELS), Comcast NBCUniversal ($CMCSA), Perkins Coie ($PRIVATE:PERKINSCOIE), Hyatt Hotels ($H), McDonalds ($MCD), and SAP ($SAP) are among the top Chicago employers.
Meanwhile, Amazon ($AMZN) employs over 13,000 individuals in the Chicago region, while the US government employs another 41,000.
San Francisco is the metropolitan core for Silicon Valley and has become America's most expensive city in the last decade as Google ($GOOG), Apple ($AAPL), and Facebook ($FB) executives and their ilk have made the Golden Gate city their home.
However, numerous San Francisco behemoths, such as Well Fargo ($WFC), which employs over 8,000 people, continue to bolster the city's employment figures.

2. New York City
According to many, New York is the world's financial and cultural center. It should come as no surprise, therefore, that JP Morgan Chase ($JPM) and Citigroup ($C) are the city's major employers, with 27,000 and 25,000 people, respectively.
Another 20,000 employees work for technology behemoth IBM, while another 27,000 work for food behemoth Wegmans Food Markets.
Seattle topped our list for October, with an average of 10,291 available opportunities across several organizations every day.
Microsoft ($MSFT), Boeing ($BA), and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, a military base employing around 56,000 people, are all located in Seattle.
Boeing employs around 80,000 people, whereas Microsoft has 42,000 workers in Seattle alone.
Amazon's headquarters, which employs 25,000 people full-time, is located in Seattle.
